…AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR ELEVATIONS BELOW 1500
FEET FROM 8 AM SUNDAY TO 4 PM PST WEDNESDAY…

* WHAT…A period of stagnant air is expected to develop this
weekend into next week, which could result in deteriorating air
quality next week.

* WHERE…Coast Range of Northwest Oregon, Central Coast Range
of Western Oregon, Lower Columbia, Greater Portland Metro
Area, Central Willamette Valley, South Willamette Valley,
Northern Oregon Cascade Foothills, Cascade Foothills in Lane
County, Upper Hood River Valley and Central Columbia River
Gorge.

* WHEN…From 8 AM Sunday to 4 PM PST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Poor air quality may cause issues for people with
respiratory problems. Local jurisdictions may have wood burning
restrictions in place. Check with your county or local air
agency for more information.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Please delay outdoor burning until
conditions improve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

People with respiratory illness should follow their physician’s
advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during
periods of stagnant air.

State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor
burning occur and that residential wood burning devices be
limited as much as possible. According to state air quality
agencies, prolonged periods of stagnant air can hold pollutants
close to the ground where people live and breathe. Check with
your local burn agency for any current restrictions in your area.

* WHAT…Visibility around one quarter mile or less in areas of
dense fog.

* WHERE…In Washington, I-5 Corridor in Cowlitz County and
Greater Vancouver Area. In Oregon, North Oregon Coast, Lower
Columbia, Greater Portland Metro Area, Central Willamette
Valley and South Willamette Valley.

* WHEN…Until 11 AM PST this morning.

* IMPACTS…Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.

Astoria Communications non-emergency lines will be down for maintenance on 01/20/2022 From 6 AM – 7AM

The City of Astoria phone system will be down on Thursday January 20, 2022 between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM for routine maintenance.  This outage will also affect the non-emergency communications lines for Astoria Emergency Communications Center.  The lines will be back in service no later than 7:00 AM.  People wishing to contact  Astoria Police Department may temporarily call  Seaside Police Department at 503-738-6311 during the outage.  If you have an emergency, 911 lines will be in service and operational.
