On 01/19/2021 at about 2:34 AM Astoria Police Department received a report of an attempted robbery near 2^nd and Marine Dr. Officers arrived and contacted the victim and a witness. The victim reported they were walking in the area and were approached by a male suspect who brandished a knife. The suspect demanded the victim’s cell phone and threatened harm him if the victim did not comply. Another individual in the area at the time was able to intervene and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect is described as a white male with shoulder length blond hair, wearing a white checkered jacket, and a dark colored bandana.
