…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR WESTERN CLATSOP AND SOUTHWESTERN
PACIFIC COUNTIES UNTIL 1015 AM PST…
At 956 AM PST, Doppler radar was tracking thunderstorms moving
onshore from near Cannon Beach and Seaside, northweard to near
Warrenton, moving northeast at 35 mph.
Frequent lightning, pea size hail and winds in excess of 35 mph
are possible in these areas.
Locations impacted include…
Astoria, Seaside, Warrenton, Cannon Beach, Hammond Town, Gearhart and
Hammond.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM PST FRIDAY…
* WHAT…Snow showers expected. Total snow accumulations of up to
3 inches, mainly above 500 feet. Beaches and coastal towns could
see brief, spotty, slushy accumulations of up to 1 or 2 inches.
* WHERE…North Oregon Coast and Coast Range of Northwest Oregon.
* WHEN…Until 6 AM PST Friday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions, especially in the
hills. Highway 101 will likely be impacted, particularly over
capes and hills.

TO 4 AM PST THURSDAY…
* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches
below 1500 feet, and 3 to 6 inches above 1500 feet. Winds
gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE…Coast Range of Northwest Oregon.
* WHEN…From 10 AM this morning to 4 AM PST Thursday.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow levels below 500 feet this morning
will gradually rise to 1500 to 2000 ft tonight. A few pockets
of freezing rain are possible in the valleys tonight.
