…HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY EVENING NEAR BEACHES AND HEADLANDS…

* WHAT…Southeast winds 30 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
possible near beaches and headlands.

* WHERE…In Washington, South Washington Coast. In Oregon, North
Oregon Coast and Central Oregon Coast. The strongest winds will
likely be along the south Washington coast.

* WHEN…From Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…There could be a period of strong winds
during the early to mid afternoon hours, but it appears more
likely the strongest winds will surface along the coast during
the early evening hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this
situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe
location prior to the onset of winds.

…MORE SNOW EXPECTED IN THE OREGON COASTAL RANGES AND THE
WASHINGTON AND OREGON CASCADES WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY…

.A strong area of low pressure off the Pacific Northwest coast will
spread moisture inland beginning Wednesday, with another round of
widespread precipitation expected across much of southwest
Washington and northwest Oregon. Relatively low snow levels are
expected to result in moderate snow accumulations affecting the
Oregon Coastal ranges, and the Cascades beginning Wednesday, and
persisting through much of Thursday.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM WEDNESDAY TO NOON

* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 6 to 8 inches
in the higher elevations.

* WHERE…Coast Range of Northwest Oregon.

* WHEN…From 10 AM Wednesday to noon PST Thursday.

* IMPACTS…Expect snow and ice covered road surfaces. Travel could
be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow levels below 500 feet on Wednesday,
gradually rising to above 1500 feet by midday Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while driving. Allow extra time to reach
your destination and allow for extra following distance from the
vehicle in front of you.

…BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST THIS
AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…Sneaker waves possible.

* WHERE…North Oregon Coast and Central Oregon Coast.

* WHEN…From 7 AM PST this morning through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Sneaker waves can suddenly knock people off of their
feet and quickly pull them into the frigid ocean which may lead
to serious injury or drowning. Sneaker waves can lift or roll
large water soaked logs which can lead to serious injury or
death. .

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Water rises may be especially high around
the high tide at 2 PM for the north Oregon coast and 1 PM for
the Central Oregon coast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when sneaker waves create
potentially life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Always
keep an eye on the waves, and be especially watchful of children.

Keep children and pets away from the surf zone, and stay off of
jetties, rocks and logs. If you see someone swept into the sea do
not swim in after them. Call 911 and keep an eye on them until
help arrives.
