On 06/15/2018 at 7:33 p.m. Astoria Officers were dispatched to a residence on Alameda Ave. after the victim/resident returned home to find a male adult in his home. The victim confronted the individual who then pointed a handgun directly at him. The victim ran out of the house to a nearby restaurant and notified police. Officers were in the area and arrived immediately. Officers set up a perimeter and searched the residence but the suspect had already fled with property from the victim just prior to the officer’s arrival. A description of the suspect was broadcast to all local law enforcement. At 11:30 p.m., a Clatsop County Sheriff deputy stopped an individual matching the description near the New Youngs Bay Bridge. The suspect had a stolen handgun and was arrested for Felon in Possession of Weapons and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Michael Todd Warner, 42 was arrested without incident and transported to the Clatsop County Jail. As the investigation continued it was learned that Warner had been in possession of property from the earlier burglary. Additional charges were added which included Burglary I and Robbery I. Warner remains lodged and the case is still under investigation.
